Capital Improvement Program
The Clerk of Court and Comptroller is responsible for the annual preparation of the Capital Improvement Program document of the Marion County Board of County Commissioners. This document serves to outline the Capital Improvements needs of the County over the next five (5) fiscal years, including funding sources. This document does not include the County’s Transportation Improvement Program which is compiled under separate cover by the County Transportation Department.
The CIP serves only as a capital plan and does not constitute an official appropriation of funds. Authorization to proceed with projects included in the CIP is contingent upon their inclusion in the County’s adopted annual budget.
Detailed financial data is stated in current year dollars. Additional summary analysis is provided with regard to available funding and the effect of inflation on future project costs. Project costs are typically funded by more than one funding source. To fully present the funding impact of the proposed Capital Improvement Program, this document provides complete cross-referencing between project costs and funding sources. Projects in this document can be referenced by either total project cost as funded from various sources or by total funding source as it is applied to various projects. Summary schedules are provided in both formats and include page number references to detailed project information.
