Official Records Research Request

Copies of documents recorded in the Official Records are available from several sources.

Documents recorded from 1967 to the present may be viewed online by selecting the ‘Official Records Search’ option at the bottom of the home page under the Official Records Access section.  Regular copies can be printed at no charge online.

Regular or certified copies of these records, along with documents recorded before 1967, may also be ordered from the Record Center at the addresses stated below.  Please call (352) 671-8545 for more information on this service.

Please provide all known information with your request (ie. document type, property owner’s name(s), book and page or file number of the recorded document, date filed or date range to be searched), and the appropriate fees.

  • Copies - $1.00 per page
  • Certification - $2.00 per document
  • Search - $2.00 per name/year

Please make checks or money orders payable to the Clerk of Court and Comptroller.  Refer to Fees and Charges.

Marriage License Research Request

Marion County marriage licenses recorded from 1965 to the present may be viewed online.  Before 1965, the marriage license records are archived on microfilm.  Certified copies of these records may be ordered from the Record Center at the above addresses; the same fees would apply.  Please provide both spouses’ names and date of marriage or book/page file numbers with your request.

For marriage licenses issued by another Florida county, you would need to contact that county directly or contact the Florida Department of Health, Bureau of Vital Statistics at (904) 359-6900 or visit the Florida Department of Health website.
