News | Clerk's Office Receives 10 Certificates in Recognition of Excellence for Best Practices
OCALA, Fla. (July 9, 2026) – The Marion County Clerk of Court and Comptroller’s Office has been awarded 10 Certificates in Recognition of Excellence for Best Practices by Florida Court Clerks & Comptrollers (FCCC) in the areas of DOR Parenting Plan Fee Waivers, Ensuring the Adoption of Relevant Financial Policies, Investment Policy, Procurement Policy, Reopen Fees for Civil Cases, Requests to Redact Exempt Personal Information, Transfer of Civil Cases, Sealing and Expunging Criminal Court Records, Unclaimed Funds, and Vexatious Litigants.
The Best Practices Excellence Program was established in 2020-2021 by FCCC as an opportunity for Clerks to receive Recognition of Excellence certificates for completing assessments that evaluate acceptance of and adherence to certain best practices. The 2025-2026 Best Practices Excellence Program evaluated and recognized Clerks for compliance in 10 areas and the certificates were presented during FCCC’s Summer Conference in Orlando, Florida on Wednesday, June 24.
“I am consistently impressed by our team’s commitment to excellence,” said Gregory C. Harrell, Marion County Clerk of Court and Comptroller. “Their work to accomplish certifications in all eligible areas is a testament to their hard work on behalf of the people of Marion County.”
Among Florida’s 68 Clerks and Comptrollers, a total of 58 offices participated in this year’s program, and 38 Clerks and Comptrollers, including Marion County, received Recognition of Excellence certificates in every category. Since the Best Practices Excellence Program launched, the Marion County Clerk of Court and Comptroller’s Office has been recognized in all 52 eligible areas.
