Payment Options
Infraction violations must be paid within 30 calendar days from the date the ticket was issued. If your ticket is not paid within 30 days, a suspension will be entered against your driver license and will subject you to additional penalties.
Collection Agency
Marion County has contracted with a collection agency to attempt to collect all outstanding fees, fines, and costs owed to Marion County. The Clerk's Office notifies the collection agency that you have fines outstanding. You will owe an additional fee of the total amount due. The collection agency will contact you by letter and phone to collect this debt.
Methods of Payment
We accept full payment of fine in cash, check or money order. They may be paid in our Traffic Division Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, except for all major holidays that our office is closed. The Clerk's Office also accepts credit/debit Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover however when using one of these cards, there is a non-refundable charge of 3.5% fee to provide this service. The Clerk's Office does not receive any part of this fee. You may pay your traffic citation online. Click on the Pay Traffic Citation Link on our home page. Payment Agreements
You may request a payment agreement by submitting an options form (Link to Options Form), monthly payment plans are $50.00 per month, per case or you can submit an application and your payment plan will be based on your income. (Link to Civil Traffic Infraction Payment Plan Application) Once the forms are received by our office, we will generate a payment plan agreement, which we will send to you along with additional information for your plan. There is a $25.00 non-refundable service fee for the payment agreement, which does not go toward the cost of your citation; and which must be paid at the time of your initial payment. Initial payment amounts include the $25.00 service fee, any late fees which have been assessed to your case, and your first month’s payment. There is a 3.5% service fee for all credit/debit card payments.
Traffic tickets written for certain driver license, registration, or insurance violations may be dismissed by the Clerk if you file proof that it was valid at the time the citation was issued. A dismissal fee of $10.00 will be charged.
