Official Records Search

The Official Records Search allows you to search the entire Marion County Official Records database for final judgments, land records, and other public documents recorded after January 1970. This database includes the Official Records index beginning at Book 543. This also allows you to search for marriage license records recorded after January 1st, 1965. The search will return a list of Grantors/Grantees or Parties, the date of the document, the Book/Page and Clerk File Number of the document, and other related instruments.

Enter the item to search for in the "Search Value" field and click on "Search". Note: If you are performing a name search, you must enter the last name at a minimum, include a space between last name and first name (no comma). A date range may be used with the name search only.

If you wish to have more document detail click on highlighted name.

Once you have followed these easy steps, you will be presented with a list of documents matching your specifications. You can perform other searches or return to the previous screen by closing your browser's window. If there is an available document to view, click the "View" button in the detail column. Click yes to let the ‘Image Applet’ run and open the image file. The image should then open in the right frame of the browser. To zoom in on the image, you may either use the zoom in / out buttons, or for a more precise view drag your mouse over the area you wish to view. Copies of images can be printed at no cost.

For Advanced Users:

To begin your search of the Public Records, simply do the following:

(1) Click on "Search Records Now".

(2) When the Disclaimer page appears, after reading then select a search application.

Copies can also be purchased from the Official Records department, located in the Clerk's Annex building at 19 N Pine Ave., room 124. Copy fees are $1.00 per page and $2.00 to certify the copy, if needed. On or after October 1, 2006, any person preparing or filing a court document may not include a social security number or a complete bank account, debit, charge, or credit card number in such document, unless required by law or court rule, or necessary to the adjudication of the case.

Any person has a right to request that the Clerk of the Circuit Court remove from an image or copy of a court document a social security number or complete bank account, debit, charge, or credit card number contained in a court document. Such request must be made in writing and delivered by mail, facsimile, electronic transmission, or in person to the Clerk of the Circuit Court. The request must specify the case number, the title of the document, and the identification page number of the document which contains the number to be redacted. A fee will not be charged for the redaction of a social security number or a complete bank account, debit, charge, or credit card number pursuant to such a request.
