David R. Ellspermann
Mr. Ellspermann began his public service as a Law Enforcement Officer with the University of Georgia and the Ocala Police Department. He left OPD to become the Administrative Director for the Public Defender’s Office and, immediately prior to his election as Clerk of the Circuit Court, Mr. Ellspermann served as the Executive Director for the Fifth Judicial Circuit State Attorney's Office.
Mr. Ellspermann presently serves as a member of Ocala/Marion County Chamber and Economic Partnership Board of Directors, Kiwanis Club of Ocala, Marion County Historical Commission, the Florida Association of Court Clerks and Comptrollers, the Florida Government Finance Officers Association, and the Marion County March of Dimes Board.
Mr. Ellspermann has been associated with United Way of Marion County Board of Directors, Marion County Budget Review Committee, Special Olympics Advisory Board, March of Dimes Regional Executive Board of Directors and Walk Chair 1998, Central Florida Community College Foundation Board of Directors, North Florida Council Boy Scouts of America Board of Directors, Marion County Children Advocacy Advisory Committee, Marion County Cancer Society Board of Directors, Marion County Family YMCA Board of Managers, Davis Productivity-Florida TaxWatch, Hospice Board of Directors, Volunteer Service Bureau Board of Directors, Retired Senior Volunteer Bureau Board of Directors, Project Graduation Board of Directors, and Marion County Credit Union Board of Directors.
Mr. Ellspermann has the following recognitions: Marion County March of Dimes Volunteer of the Year; GFWC Ocala Junior Women Club Family of the Year; Florida TaxWatch and Florida Council of 100 Davis Productivity Award; Police Officer of the Year; University of Georgia; Volunteer of the Year, North Central Florida Division March of Dimes; AIIM (Association for Information and Image Management) 2006 Innovation Compliance – Related Installation Award; FACC President’s Award of Clerk of the Year for Florida Clerk’s and Comptroller’s Association 2006, 2009, and 2012; and March of Dimes Lifetime Achievement Award.
