We appreciate your interest in seeking employment with the Clerk's Office. Your application should be typewritten or printed legibly in ink. Please answer all of the questions fully and accurately. A résumé may be attached as a supplement to the application; however, it will not be accepted as a substitute for responding to any question.   • Permission is hereby given to any agency of the government of the United States, and/or any other agency, person, firm, or corporation holding records concerning me, to furnish the Office of the Marion County Clerk of the Circuit Court with all information desired involving me in any way, upon request. Included in this release of information is my permission to former employers and other persons acquainted with me or in possession of information concerning me to supply such information to the Clerk's Office. This further includes furnishing of copies of pertinent documents about my background, as required.
  • I understand such records may include reasons for termination of employment, reasons for discharge from military service, criminal history, on the job performance, educational records, or any other personal information which may not otherwise be obtained without prior agreement.
  • I hereby release you, your organization or others from any liability or damage which may result from furnishing the information requested above.
Non-Tobacco Use Affidavit

The Marion County Board of County Commissioners and the Clerk of Court adopted a no tobacco use policy for new applicants. You will be required to print out and complete a PDF form and have it notarized before any interviews.

Applicant's Certification

I am aware that any omissions, falsifications, misstatements, or misrepresentations on this application may disqualify me for employment consideration and, if I am hired, may be grounds for termination at a later date. I understand that any information given may be investigated by law and I hereby authorize the Marion County Clerk of the Circuit Court to contact my present and former employers, schools, law enforcement agencies, and other individuals and organizations. I further agree to indemnify and hold the Clerk's Office harmless from any claims arising from such authorization. I also understand and agree that this employment application shall be the property of the Clerk's Office.

Further, I understand that I have the right to terminate my employment at any time with or without notice and that the Clerk’s Office has the same right. No one other than the Marion County Clerk of the Circuit Court has the authority to alter this right, and then only in a writing signed by the Clerk. I also understand that if hired, I will be employed on an introductory basis for ninety (90) days, and that if I am terminated for unsatisfactory performance during this period, the Clerk’s Office will not be responsible for unemployment benefits.
