David R. Ellspermann, Marion County Clerk of the Court and Comptroller, has received reports from citizens who have gotten phone calls notifying them that an arrest warrant has been issued for failure to appear for jury service. The caller advises that a cash payment may be made to eliminate the warrant and requests credit card or banking information.

The Marion County Clerk acknowledges that the Court may issue a Summons to Appear for citizens who fail to respond to jury duty. However, the Clerk’s Office does not make phone calls if a Summons to Appear is issued and would not request credit card or banking information.
